Sun screens for
the conservatory

Enjoy your conservatory without overheating.

A conservatory is beautiful thanks to the large amount of glass and natural light, but those large glass surfaces (and often non-standard shapes) also cause the space to heat up very quickly in summer. Within just a few hours, your conservatory can become uncomfortably hot. Traditional sun shading in these situations is often expensive, permanent, or simply not suitable for these types of structures.

When the screens are installed on the outside, they keep the heat out before the glass warms up, without drilling, without permanent installation and without high costs.

  • Blocks up to 97% of heat when installed on the outside
  • Preserves your outdoor view
  • Easy to install, both inside and outside
  • Attach without drilling or screws
  • Shipped within 5 working days

Non-standard sizes and shapes

Conservatories often consist of large glass surfaces, sliding doors and non-standard shapes. Traditional sun shading is usually not a suitable solution for these situations or comes with high costs and permanent installation.

With Sun Eclipse, we provide custom sun screens for almost any window shape, such as round, triangular and trapezoid windows. As long as the glass surface is flat, we can produce a perfectly fitting screen that you can easily install yourself, inside or outside, without drilling or screws.

Do you have a sliding section?
Please note that our suction cups are approximately 3.5 cm high. Check in advance whether the sliding door can still open fully once the screen is installed.

Is exterior installation not possible?
You can easily install our screens on the inside instead. For interior installation, we recommend Maximum Sunblock in the colour White. Lighter colours absorb less heat than darker ones and therefore provide the best possible heat reduction on the inside of the glass.

This is how you measure correctly:

  1. Go to www.sun-eclipse.fr/order/en
  2. Select ‘custom size’ at step 3
  3. Enter the largest width and the largest height

If you have any doubts or questions, you can always contact customer service. They are happy to assist you.

Upload a sketch and photo
After entering the measurements, you can upload files. Please include:

  • A clear sketch with all measurements
  • A photo of the entire skylight

Based on this, we will create a technical drawing ensuring the suction cups are positioned exactly on the glass. We will always review this drawing with you first. Only after your approval will the screen go into production.

This ensures you receive a perfectly fitting Sun Eclipse screen with maximum heat reduction.

Sun screens for your conservatory: interior or exterior installation?

For maximum heat reduction, we recommend exterior installation. This stops the sun’s heat before the glass warms up and delivers the highest performance.

However, with conservatories or sliding doors it may happen that a specific pane is not suitable for exterior installation, for example because the sliding section does not provide enough space for the suction cups (approx. 3.5 cm). In that case, you can choose to install that particular window on the inside, while placing screens on the outside of the remaining glass surfaces.

This way, you combine maximum heat reduction where possible with a practical solution where needed, without compromising on comfort or appearance.

How to attach the screens to your conservatory

Both interior and exterior sun screens are easy to install yourself. No complicated installation, no permanent modifications and no professional required. Depending on accessibility, you can choose to install them on the inside or outside of the glass.

The screens attach quickly and securely directly to the glass using our strong vacuum suction cups. This allows you to create effective heat reduction in just minutes, without drilling, without screws and without damage to your window frames.

Installation in short:

  1. Clean the window and suction cups
  2. Place the screen and tighten it
  3. Enjoy a cool and comfortable home all season long

Removing the screens is just as easy and quick. Store the sun screens clean and dry so you can easily install them again next spring.

Frequently asked questions

At Sun Eclipse, we continually strive to provide our customers with the best possible support. For this reason, we have collected and answered the most common questions in our FAQ. This way, you can easily find answers to all your questions.

Go to FAQ
  • Do Sun Eclipse screens stay put during strong winds?

Sun Eclipse screens and suction cups stay put even during a spring storm. Our screens catch little wind because they are close to the windows and the suction cups are designed to last.

  • How many suction cups will my Sun Eclipse screen have?

The suction cups are a maximum of 100 cm apart. If your screen has a length and/or width that is larger, an extra suction cup is placed halfway so that the maximum distance between two suction cups, measured along one side, is never greater than 100 cm.

  • Is a Sun Eclipse screen sustainable?

Sun Eclipse screens are made of sustainable material, last a long time and ensure lower energy consumption when using air conditioners. It is the simplest solution to indoor heat.

  • What does excess fabric mean?

Because Sun Eclipse screens are placed 2 cm from the window’s surface, the screens are supplied with 1.5 cm excess fabric on each side (3 cm per width and height). As a result, the screens close properly and no heat and light can pass through the edges.

You can also opt for no excess fabric, for instance, if you have high square upright edges on your window frames. In this case, choose under ‘which type of frame do you have’ the option ‘Deep and angled’ when you order.

You can request any other changes in the order option. This way you can create a custom sunshade.

  • Will you come to my house to measure the windows and install the screens?

Sun Eclipse is an affordable indoor heat solution. That’s why we are online only. By letting the customer do the measuring and assembly, we keep costs, and therefore prices, low.

  • Can I request a quote?

Use our online ordering tool and see the price immediately.

Say goodbye to the heat and enjoy a cool home.
